Tuomas Niininen begun his piano studies in Conservatory of Central Finland with Oleg Mantur. He continued his studies in Sibelius Academy with Eero Heinonen and Tuija Hakkila and CNSEM with Alain Planés.
Niininen has won numerous prizes in piano competitions and performs regularly in Finland as a soloist, chamber musician, lied pianist and a composer.
As a composer his works include mostly piano repertoire, the main title being 24 Preludes cycle. Since 2015 he has worked as a piano professor and accompanist in JAMK University of Applied Sciences in Jyväskylä.
